Visiting Milan

In three days time Boy and I will be setting off for Milan for just under a week's holiday...exciting huh?? Well, yes and no. Here's why...

  • We've just moved into a new place together, so we've been super busy building furniture and putting away clothes and shoes (mostly mine) and just getting used to the privacy of our own home. Going away on holiday so soon after moving in has made for a very tiring (and expensive) week!!

  • Have you ever noticed how stressful travel is? Getting to Milan in the least cash consuming manner requires 3 trains to get to Luton, and then a bus and two trams once we get to Milan. That's nuts, right??
  • Have you ever tried to pack a week's worth of clothes in a hand luggage? Especially stylish clothes to wear whilst out and about in Milan. If you're a girl, you get my meaning. This is a very difficult task.
But, even with all the cons of travelling, the pros of visiting a foreign country always add up to make them worth it. Visiting new cities which are known for their art, architecture and essential beauty is something that can be taken for granted, but should always be appreciated. There is nothing better than the simple pleasure of sitting in an Italian outdoor cafe, sipping a glass of good wine and watching another part of the world go by. And sightseeing may be exhausting, but every new sight you see enriches your mind and, in a way, changes your personality. And the top, TOP, pro of going on holiday to European locations such as Milan, is the weather forecast.
